About Me

My Love for Writing

Growing up, I was always surrounded by creativity. My dad worked for Nike as a graphic designer and my older brother drew pictures of Batman. The problem was that I could not draw to save my life. Luckily, I found I could write a mean article. In high school and college, I wrote about the one topic I thought the world needed: football.

In my mind, nothing was more important. Not politics, religion, or cooking. I craved to write about if the Seattle Seahawks should have ran the ball on the 1-yard line or why Tom Brady was the Greatest of All Time.

As time passed, I was able to expand my pallet. Now I have had stints writing about sales and industrial safety signage—topics a little more applicable to the working person.

Layered Like a Cake

There isn't much to me these days. I'm like a cake, simple and sweet. Born in San Francisco, and growing up in Portland, Oregon, shaped who I am today. From style to food preferences, Portland helped me become a unique individual with a keen sense of humor.

I love going to concerts (nothing gets me going more than that Buddy Holly riff or Mr. Brightside) and watching the Seattle Seahawks disappoint me every season.

Most importantly, I love being a husband and father. My beautiful wife, Madeline, is my eternal soulmate who has given me a whole new perspective on love. My two boys (Oliver, 4 and Vance, 1.5) are hilarious little dudes who share my same head size.

My Large Head

Obviously, you came to this page to learn why my head is so big. There are two reasons for my big head: my dad's big head was passed on to me and I was born 4 days late. Hence, why some punks would call me Jimmy Neutron in elementary—I never stood a chance.
